(a) Court Fees. Court fees shall be as indicated below for actions in the Civil Division (CA), and for actions in the Small Claims and Conciliation Branch and the Landlord and Tenant Branch (SC & LT) (where fee is applicable). CA SC & LT
(1) INITIAL FILING FEES Filing a new civil action $120 $.. Filing a new landlord-tenant action .. Filing a new housing code enforcement action (CA Form 116) .. Filing a new small claims action .. For Claims for Damages for $500 or Less .. For Claims over $500 and up to $2500 .. For Claims in excess of $2500 .. Filing intervening petition Filing arbitration agreement and entering award Filing jury demand .. Filing change of name case .. Filing petition to change birth certificate .. Filing petition to release mechanics' lien .. Filing petition to enter administrative order as judgment .. Filing for enforcement of foreign judgment .. Filing petition to perpetuate testimony (Rule 27) .. Filing a Merit Personnel Action review .. Filing an appeal from the Traffic Adjudication Appeals Board .. Filing counterclaim, crossclaim, or 3rd party claim Filing petition to serve subpoena (Rule 28-I) ..
(2) MISCELLANEOUS FEES For issuing each alias summons or alias writ For attachment before judgment (including issuing writ) For filing motion (except motion under Rule 41-I) For motion to reinstate after dismissal under Rule 41-I For services of a judge as arbitrator 120/hr .. (b) Marshal's Fees. The fees for services by the United States Marshals for processes issued by the Superior Court shall be the same as those service of processes issued by the United States District Court for the District of Columbia.

COMMENT Attention is called to the provisions of D. C. Code 1981, § 15-713 which prohibit in any class of case return of a jury fee if demand for jury trial is withdrawn less than 3 days before the trial date.
