Conn. Practice Book § 36-8 — Issuance of Summons by Prosecuting Authority in Lieu of Arrest Warrant

When a prosecuting authority receives a complaint that a misdemeanor has been committed, in lieu of applying for an arrest warrant, the prosecuting authority may summon the person or persons against whom the complaint is made to appear before the court at the date and time specified in the summons. The prosecuting authority also may issue a summons when directed to do so by the judicial authority pursuant to Section
